Catoctin Mountain Cyclery is proud to be a family (and rider) owned and operated Mountain Bike Shop. We've been doing this for over three decades. Professional service and repair is a large focus of our shop offering exceptional work by a highy skilled mechanic. We do things a bit differently than most bike shops. Custom builds and service/repair are our focus.
If you want your bike set up and built right with parts that are chosen carefully for your needs we're your shop. We are proud to offer some really nice and rider owned and operated brands like Pivot, Knolly, Banshee, Kona and more! You'll find lots of everyday riding essentials in our store as well. We hope to become your go to resource for all your mountain biking needs. We carry a nice selection of riding and maintenance essentials. Tire sealant, brake pads, chains, nutrition, pumps, co2, hip packs, eyewear, tires........And much more.
You'll have to come into the shop though. Everyone can buy online, nothing wrong with that at all. It's not what we're about though. A souless late night shopping experience in your pajamas. We want to meet you, say hi, see your bikes, talk about trails. That all happens in the shop and at our Friday shop rides. Our stock changes often so it's worth a trip. Which brings us to the next part.....
Our shop is less than a minute away from the twisty, flowy singletrack at Little Bennett Regional Park and about 25 minutes from the technical and rocky riding at the Frederick Watershed. Stop in and see what we're all about, bring your bike and hit the trails right from the parking lot! We look forward to meeting and riding with you!

SURLY BIKES
Surly has been cranking out quality, durable steeel bikes for years. No frills, just very versatile and fun to ride bikes. What really makes Surly so rad is the versatility of the bikes. Take the Karate Monkey (pictured) for instance. This bike can easilly be set up singlespeed or geared. It can run a rigid fork with all the braze ons for bikepacking or touring, it can take a tapered suspension fork, it can run full rack and fender set ups for touring or commuting. It can run 29 or 27.5 wheels and tires.
It's not uncommon for Surly owners to have their bikes built several different ways throughout the year!
Surly offers lots of different models. They do produce complete bikes but we usually order the frames and custom build to the riders needs from there. They can also be built much lighter this way.

Banshee offers several really nice frames in a variety of wheel sizes and travel ranges. Are you after a fast, quick handling bike for MoCo's flowy singletrack? The Banshee Phantom is your bike
If smashing at the Watershed is your jam then the Titan (29er) or Rune (27.5) is the way to go.
Something in the middle? The Prime at 135 mm rear travel is the most popular choice (shown here). Banshee also offers some very nice hardtail frames. These can be set up for 27.5 inch wheels or mullet.
Every Banshee is custom built by us with the parts YOU want. We go over your budget, needs, wants and riding style and come up with the perfect mix of parts for your new rig! Banshees are not terribly expensive frames either. Certainly not entry level prices but they can be built somewhat reasonably. Stop in soon and let's talk about your new Banshee.
